Prioritizing the Safety, Security, and Well-Being of Our Students and Staff
The safety, security, and happiness of our students and staff is our number one priority.
Clyde CISD is fully committed to ensuring the safety of everyone in our community, including both students and adults. School safety is essential for uninterrupted education—free from harm and danger. It serves as the foundation for an effective learning environment, allowing the learning process to thrive. A safe school is synonymous with an excellent school, enabling children to learn without worry, parents to feel secure about their children’s well-being, and educators to focus on their mission of nurturing students. Schools carry both legal and moral obligations to protect children, and by adhering to a proactive approach, we strive to provide a reasonable level of safety. It’s important to remember that we are safeguarding our community’s most precious resource: our children.
Teachers play a vital role in maintaining school safety. They must supervise students effectively and foster strong connections with them. By developing professional and personal relationships, teachers can better recognize students under stress and address any potential issues, thereby enhancing their capacity to teach and support each child.
School administrators are responsible for providing leadership and establishing the tone for school safety. Committed administrators focus on defining safety concepts for themselves and their staff. Learning cannot take place in a disruptive environment where fear prevails among children, educators, and parents alike.
Parents also play a crucial role in school safety, influencing safety initiatives positively or negatively. They should familiarize themselves with all safety regulations to benefit everyone on campus and actively participate, stay informed, voice their concerns, and offer support.
Our schools are equipped with nurses who attend to the daily physical needs of students. They are instrumental in optimizing public health measures and supporting mental health within the school environment.
